Sucks to see CS going the “Gerber route” of blister-pack 3cr junk. Lynn Thompson might’ve had a bit of an *aesthetic*, but CS produced a Lot of great knives I own and get daily use out of.

I love cold steel have given out more tuff lite knives than any others. Good bye cold steel. I think this relationship is over.

Isn’t SOG also getting fucked by new ownership?

It’s tough, I don’t want them to go away, that was my first foray into “better” knives. I think I’m ok with them selling that crap if they keep making the good stuff. I dunno. Sad

I think the AD10 will be my first and only cold steel knife

Spyderco and Ontario rats are at Walmart too, doesn’t mean they’re bad

I’m really curious to see how bad the sheath is.

As much as i hate that cold steel is going the cheap blister pack route my buddy actually got a set of those from walmart and theyre suprisingly decent.

I’m guessing a stick tang that goes 1/3 of the way down the handle….

It’s not going to be long before a Wally World customer YouTube’s cold steel and try’s using their blue light special knife to slice a pig in half.

I’ve been using one of their machetes for almost a decade now every day…still my fave.

Who would have thought Lynn Thompson was keeping that place from selling out to the devil? Seriously 2for one 3cr13. Cold Steve was gimmicky. It good stuff. Now they are just all gimmick

Honestly though if I saw them in my Wal-Mart I’d buy them for the hell of it. Seems like none of the stores in my area like to carry knives these days, though.

I don’t see how this is surprising Lynn Thompson sold cold steel to gsm 2 years ago its even on their YouTube channel. Now that fucking bald idiot owns the company. I don’t see why everyone is upset with Lynn I doubt this is what he wanted for his brand.

Full circle. I’ve been collecting and using knives for over 4 decades. In the beginning cold steel was a joke. It was affordable and mediocre with a loud mouthpiece who would just cut stuff up with it – saying how great it was. Then the internet happened and he cut stuff up with it on video but their stuff was improved. It eventually made a name and had better quality associated with it and here we go back. What a shame.

For the type of bushcraft that requires such a large knife, that 3cr makes these one time use. I’m kidding, I bet these slice through thick vegetation just fine, at least once.

When I was a kid and loved knives I remember loving cold steel. Those days are gone for me now.

WY checking in… I really considered buying this set today but I didn’t because I figured it was probably crap.
