Alixthetrapgod
How did you lose it?
knifetomeetyou44
Where did you lose it ? Go back and retrace steps
TumTumEDC
Canβt trust pocket clips I swear. So annoying
The_EDC_Fisherman
Absolutely not. 940s suck. And with the standard of Benchmade qc you would be lucky if all you get is a uneven grind.

Buy something worth the money, not another Benchmade.

Well, to decide if you should directly replace *anything*, there’s a question to ask yourself. Did it work for your needs?
If it did, then the only reason to not do a direct replacement is if you don’t *want* to. Otherwise, it’s like any other purchase. You do your research, shop around, and make a budget.
Now, in terms of the research, there have been more *complaints* about benchmade quality control online, particularly here on reddit. Does that directly match actual QC results though? Does it reflect an uptick in issues?
I can’t answer that, and I don’t think anyone outside of a person handling returns would be able to. But the uptick in public complaints is real enough.
And there has *definitely* been a price increase that will not go away, even if the supposed reason for it does. Benchmade has jacked their prices *way* up just like every knife company has, claiming that the post COVID supply issues are the cause. But everyone knows that the why doesn’t matter, prices don’t go down once they go up.
That’s the info I have that’s useful. Take it with the grain of salt you should take any individual information.
The 940 is a popular knife for good reasons though, so I wouldn’t blame you if you did replace it π
HurpityDerp
Coming from someone that has one, no I wouldn’t.
The blade is too thick for my tastes.
And Benchmade prices have always been high but they are absolutely ridiculous now.
Knot-Tying-Magician
To be honest, if I lost mine today, I would not purchase another. I would almost just send mine to you. Almost. Instead I would purchase a cool spyderco or something.

Probably not, if youβre just going to lose it.
