What are your thoughts about this knife?

Have one. It’s a surprisingly solid design for the price. Definitely more a martial arts weapon, I wouldn’t suggest this for woods carry or even general utility.

The only downside I’ve come across so far is the lock sometimes fails when waving the knife open. The knife clacks open so fast it can bounce out of the locked position before the lock fully engages.

I don’t know if this is the same with others of the same model. But I much prefer the safer use of the flipper tab for this thing. Have not been able to recreate the lock failure in any other way.

It’s an okay knoife ruined by a shitty lock

  3. TurdFlavor

I want one but was turned away by the lock. I like my cold Steel Ti-Lites simple liner lock. Will probably pick one up after I get burnt out on Chinese autos.

I think it’s bigly bigness combined with it’s sheer bigocity makes a little too humongous for me to easily pocket carry it, personally.

  5. CrudCutter

There’s no practical reason for a folder to be this big, ever, imo.

I have one that was bought as a joke for me and it’s one that just kinda sits around as a talking piece, I don’t ever imagine it would be useful just due to its size and not willing to carry it for camping due to not trusting the lock design

  7. Novelty best sold to get the down payment for something nice.

Had one and gave it away.

Only use case for me is a bush EDC when I am hunting big game in remote country where being stranded is a real issue. But I prefer my XL Espada for that as I can skin with it and it has a better clip and lock.

The synthetic clip was a major turnoff as was the size. Flipper was ok and the lock once fully engaged seems solid but for me a bit too much mall ninja shit.

Maybe if you worked in a place that required like dog defence or something but if you are well enough trained to use a blade in a human-human encounter you probably have access to better tools (tazer/firearms etc.) so for me I found it be a fun toy I bought for cheap used but not something I kept or would use regularly.

For the price it’s a 10/10 great chopper. Love my 6” Ti-Lite too

Great back up for hog hunting not much other use

The mall ninja look is identifiable as cold steel from a mile away.

Looks like something a guy would carry if he’s overcompensating for other shortcomings. Lol

I mean, you do you. If that makes you happy then enjoy! But it’s a little too high profile for my tastes. If I used it in public someone would call the cops.

That if I had any use for a knife that large I’d rather have a fixed blade and not have to even though no about a lock mechanism, no matter how strong.

A knife that size is a bush knife, so just get a proper fixed blade.

  14. BigBrownFish

Cold steel just reminds me of slicing up pigs.

An R/MallNinjaShit Classic ( JK its actually a pretty interesting knife )

  16. I own a couple of Cold Steel knives. I really have no complaint about the brand’s quality considering the price. But the result of their advertising/marketing is an image that’s too tacticool/ mall ninja for me to take them seriously as a brand.

  17. HopSkipATheChewtoys

I gave mine to a friend, he loves it

It’s a little too big to be versatile, but you can get a lot of use out of it hunting and going for large fish. Outside of that, it’s mainly a deterrent for muggers considering how large and scary looking it is
