Hi everyone. Not sure if this is the right subreddit for this but I am looking for some more information about the manufacturer and year this cleaver was made. I recently inherited a bunch of cutlery from my grand parents and this one stuck out to me. Anyone have any ideas what year it could have been made? Thanks

Well, it’s manufactured by Ochsenkopf and clearly made for export (thus marked “Ox Head” instead of Ochsenkopf).
Marked as made in West Germany, so manufactured between 1949 and 1990 when West Germany stopped existing (the Berlin Wall fell in Nov ’89).
Judging by the grip design, I’d definitely put this at the latter end of that timeline. Likely mid to late 80’s.
