Writing looks Southeast Asian, Thai, Malay, Indonesian, philipino baybayin, something like that. Has solder and a belt loop, obviously it’s not ancient, but it has some age to it. Kind of wavy blade Kris energy to it, but obviously not a kris. Probably some cheap decorative keepsake grandpa picked up in ww2 in between bouts of VD he picked up on leave during his deployment in China. Although the dagger is very sharp, and the blade feels pretty substanial so it’s not entirely just a cheap tourist knickknack. It’s been stored haphazardly in hawaii near the beach (salty air) and hasn’t corroded much, it’s not super cheaply made.

Any info would be appreciated.

Sort of looks like a jambiya. Handle looks like buffalo horn.

Almost looks like a Gurkha blade. Older for sure, but somewhat the same design.

I served with a few people who had the privilege to train with them once. They said they would carry these types of blades always. Very cool stories he would tell us from the Gurkha’s training and history and stuff.
