Maybe a dumb question but why do I notice some lights creating significantly more glare/shine on objects than others?

It’s harder to capture in photos, but the attached photo is fairly close to what I experience in real life. My 519a, although having technically the best color rendering, also tends to reflect off leaves etc. the most and sometimes feel harsh to look at. In contrast, the LH351D feels a lot less reflective in a calming way.

I don’t believe this is necessarily tied to color temperature though, because the XHP35 is the coolest of the bunch, but I don’t find it as severe as the 519a.

  1. I should add that these are all Zebralights and each photo was taken at the same distance with same output level.

Regardless of that, I experience this in real life at all output levels.

Interesting to me we definitely see different CRI. Just to ask, what emitter is most natural and reflect true colors of the leaf? 519A?

Perhaps there is more reflection from 519A since 519A has more “Red” spectrum over the two emitters?
