For context, was looking for a prybar with specific uses: bottle opener, pocket clip, 1/4″ hex hole, and minimalist aside of that. I get into this model, and I feel something is off.

Is there any reason I’m not understanding for the pocket clip to be on that side (the wrong side as I understand)? Or designers are just dumb?

  1. less chance to snag in a pocket this way. flat end would go against the side of the pocket?

more odd that they didnt tap holes on both sides to let you swap it

Why do you consider that to be the wrong side?

  3. Meant to be carried opposite pocket from your knife

I carry this pry bar. It’s awesome. Full titanium. 4.37″ long for leverage. Perfect pry edge. 1.9 ounces. Pocket clip works great.

  5. Honestly, if I was to design one with a pocket clip, I would put it exactly how it already is, any other way it would get in the way and reduce the pry bars function. I.e. you want to be able to get the side that has the fulcrum the widest range of motion possible and having a pocket clip on that side would stop it short or you’d end up using the pocket clip as a fulcrum and probably breaking or damaging said pocket clip.

  6. The clip need to go on the flat side of the bar. That way you get full range of motion when prying.
