[NMD] upgraded my bike light hood/cutoff from kitchen foil to leather. Much more structurally sound and a nicer beam shape to boot!

   New one is a huge upgrade. Much sturdier, so the wind won’t mess it up as easily. Leather on top so it looks somewhat nice. Blends in to the black handlebars and light, at least. Foil underneath to reflect light – the beamshots show how much of a difference this makes. It’ll give me some pretty decent ambient lighting close to me, effectively giving the beam more spill

   Still not perfect, but I’ll be testing this on the road and seeing how it fares. Probably won’t survive when the weather gets windier but for late summer, this should do the job
