I don’t know much about knives but I started going to school in an area where I feel safer at night having one in my pocket. So I picked this up at the flea market yesterday. It has a knob so I can flick it open. However, I was reading up on the laws and it says it’s illegal when it “can be released by a flick of a button, pressure on the handle, flip of the wrist, or another mechanical device” not sure if this would be under that category.

Thanks in advance!

No. You’re legal by definition. Please add pepper spray as your primary and keep the knife as a tool. Thumb studs are okay.

Congrats on the knife, never cut toward yourself and don’t brandish it at anyone unless you literally think someone’s life is in danger.

Good to go. If it had a spring that helped it open, or a literal ” switch blade” where a button is pressed and the blade fires out without you touching it is the issue.

Be responsible with it. Don’t wave it around and draw attention.
