I had a limited time tonight and this light died…
It had an xhp35.2 and I wanted to mess with the gasket to get the focus better, and taking the gasket off took some of the led with it. I didn’t realize just how delicate these xhp emitters are…
Anyway, I had a 12A linear driver that was begging to go in something. I just had to find an led that could take the current like a champ. The sft40 was too easy and boring of a choice, so I went with a UHi 20 from my mt1c pro. It’s not driven nearly hard in that light, so it’s a bit green, but driven like this, it’s a nice cool white beast.
If anyone happens to some of these you swapped out of newer nitecores, let me know. I’m a fan and would love a quad d4sv2 with these, but I only have one other that isn’t in a light.
