I added silica gel packets to my storage cases on my more corrosion prone knives, and I noticed the speckling pictured in the second pic, it was not like that when I put them in there. Is the silica gel pack somehow corroding it? I assumed this would not happen. Not as worried about my Shipwrecked Natrix but I don’t want to damage my M4 Manix2

Oil is your best friend
I don’t know of that is a bad thing. You can remove rust using WD-40, aluminum foil, and a baking soda and water mixture. you can look up the instructions for these three methods.
My dude. Wipe the blades with mineral oil before you store them. It’s food safe too. And will prevent rust big time.
I use the round barrel type silica jobs they work great. Best thing on non stainless blades is to wipe them with oil.
