Found in an old trailer my dad bought. I am a complete beginner so I don’t have any whetstones, the best I have is sandpaper. So if it is restorable and anyone has any recommendations on what tools to use or buy it would be greatly appreciated

Preferably a dremel can be used to sand down the top of the clip point down to the sharpened portion, occasionally dipped in water to control the temp.

Sandpaper if the grit is high enough could work. Heck, a curb or a flat rock outside could work too, just be considerate of the edge (you could wrap it in tape to be safe).

The rest could use a quick polish. The wood will probably want to resealed.

Overall this isnt bad from the pics.

Definitely restorable. [Victorinox make a great portable sharpener](https://amzn.eu/d/2vMpVrf) that’s good for learning to sharpen knives. Like someone else said you can use a Dremel or bench sander to re-grind the tip of your knife, just make sure not to overheat and damage the steel.

You can clean the knife using warm soapy water and an old toothbrush, then dry it off and lube the joint. Some knife manufacturers sell some non-greasy or food-safe oils, I honestly just squirt a bit of WD-40 and it’s fine for about a month.

And like the other commenter suggested, you might want to reseal the wood. You’ll have to ask someone else what the best method for sanding/refinishing and varnishing looks like though, I’m by no means an expert.
