Two things I could think of: 1. Tighten the pivot screw as it looks like there is a major gap forming between the blade and the handle. This gap would cause the lock not to engage. 2. A part of the locking mechanism may be broken and this would prevent the knife from securing closed. Before coming to this conclusion tighten the pivot I listed previously.
