Really liking cru wear! No rolls or nicks even stripping copper. Not a fan of dlc, never have been. Any ideas on taking it off? Heard green scrub pad works.

Tell it all your worries and strifes. Careful, we don’t want to see you on r/harduseknives and r/beatupknives telling us how you tripped a breaker with your knife.

Hey, what knife is that? It looks really sweet!

If you talk to it in an abrasive manner. You might get lucky.

all jokes aside, dlc is hard, really really fucking hard, the only thing that can take it off would be cbn or diamond, as the name implies DLC(diamond like carbon), it’s just about harder and more corrosion resistant than anything that’d be below it.

it also protects cruwear from corrosion, which cruwear isn’t all that rust prone, but it’s a plus for non stainless.

You’d probably need to use some sort od diamond polishing compound and polish it off, which will take a while. Also, those streaks aren’t scratches, they’re just copper cable that had rubbed off on the dlc, like pencil marks on paper, some iso will just wipe em off.

It’s literally made to not come off.

Buy yourself a cheap ass Ganzo ripoff with a satin blade, don’t destroy that awesome knife.

The easiest thing to do is buy a new knife without the coating.

you could always get automotive sand paper and work your way up until you’re satisfied but, Having done that with a cheaper coating…. Just don’t haha. And if you do, don’t cut yourself to fuck

Media blasting. I bet a rock tumbler would get it eventually.

It’s only a couple microns thick but molecularly attached. Diamonds will scratch it or anything that will wear the blade steel. Have you tried cleaning the blade?

  10. Trade it for a non-DLC knife. I’m sure it wouldn’t take long to find an even trade.

Good luck, brother… Seriously though, you will need to fully media blast and refinish it. You could kind of remove some of it with sandpaper, but small areas like around the plunge grind or jimping you will probably never get off without blasting.

Idk about taking the dlc off but if you buy some bar keepers friend and scrub it into the coating it will get the scuffs and scratches out of the dlc and make it look new
