Halogen wake-up light vs BLF LT1 auto tint

Got myself the BLF LT1 A2 (I think that’s what the current version is called?) and one of the main motivations was the ability to use the Anduril auto tint feature on a lantern.

Here are some comparison pictures with it and our wake-up light that is using a halogen bulb. The photos have the camera white balance locked at 3200K which looked most true to how the light CCT appeared to my eyes.

The wake-up light has 20 brightness levels, and the photos here are taken on levels 1/20, 10/20 and 20/20. Camera exposure settings were left at auto, so the difference in brightness, especially between the medium and max levels, are not demonstrated by these pictures.

What we can see is how the halogen CCT changes with the brightness. The LT1 top ramp CCT I’ve set somewhere between 3000K and 3500K, but closer to 3000K I’d say. With these settings the LT1 is raising the CCT much quicker than the halogen with matching brightness.

As a bonus I took pics also with Convoy S21F set to 2700K. Additional comments in picture captions.

Interesting comparison. I have a couple of tint ramping Anduril lights, and I’ve often wished the CCT would be slower to change, more like your halogen light.
