Recently picked up a baton turbo and baton 4 in search to replace my old shitty head light for camping/ general use. I love the throw of the turbo but a tad heavy (will mainly be clipped to my hat)

I love the size and weight of the baton 4 but didn’t feel like it gave distance I am looking for. Also, it getting super hot on turbo mode kinda iffy. Any of you flash freaks have a different recommendation for something comparable to the baton turbo but around the 2oz mark? Hoping for at least 1000 lumens as well. Never thought I’d geek out on flash lights but here I am thanks to yall! Thanks in advanced! 🔦✨

  1. <60g, 1000Lm, not going to happen, simple as that. Assuming sustained 1000Lm of course, if you need <30 second turbo… even that would be iffy…

You’re brushing up against Physics limits with the size need versus the amount of luminous flux that can be given off without simply burning up the light and forcing it to throttle down its output.

Small throwers like the Baton Turbo, the Convoy S6+W1+18350 or the Lumintop GT Nano are about the absolute limit in small size relative to the candela those lights can produce that you can still call them actual genuine throwers. And even then, the Baton Turbo and S6 cannot hold their 100% output for very long. They’ll all eventually run into the same issue as the Baton 4….

The GT Nano with the 10180 battery is currently the only genuine thrower I’m aware of that you can buy that weighs less than 56 grams (2 ounces) with battery. The GT Nano comes in at 20 grams.

If you really want distance you could look at the maratac mini lep cosmos. It’s 2.5 ounces (probably without the battery). It’s only 260 lumens but it will make up for it with 124k candela.
