So recently bought a DLC Para 2 from a guy I met at work. Interestingly enough, throughout my knife collecting, I’ve never gone for the PM 2 since I’ve always been more of a Manix guy. Anyway as I was checking it out, I noticed the compression lock tab on mine is coated, whereas the one pictured on Blade HQ is satin. This got me thinking, is there any chance this just might be a really good clone? Also the knife feels unusually light. Like really light. I’ve got a few G10 knives, and they all have a bit more heft than this one.

I was hoping some of you more experienced knife collectors could help me out with verifying its authenticity. If you guys need any other angles of the knife, just let me know. I appreciate any help I receive. Thanks.

A coated liner isn’t cause for concern. That’s how they are generally if all the hardware is coated. It usually takes longer for the coated liners to break in to be fully smooth. They come both ways.

Weight might be a good way to confirm it’s legit if you have a scale. I’ve heard the clones don’t usually get the weight right. I’m not well versed in clones.
