It has two different blade grinds. I think the circled part is hollow ground, which makes it easier to feather stick, and the area closer to the point is probably scandi ground, or flat ground, which makes it tougher and harder to damage the edge when chopping.
Nothing about that entire setup seems practical or appealing in any way.

There’s supposed to be a transition between the first bevel and the second so that there’s a hooked portion of cutting edge that can be used to cut while pulling the knife. It’s apparently good for shaving wood to make tinder. The way this one is made with an unsharpened portion between the two beveled areas serves no purpose.

This is a really bad design based off a good design. That flat section is used to help shave off wood like a draw knife. And instead of a useless unsharpened section to the left of that in the picture, is supposed to be a curved sharpened section that helps you make kindling quick and easy.
This is a crappy knockoff by someone who didn’t understand the intention of the shape.

These are bushcrafter survivalist specialized knives. The transition between lower blade and upper blade should not be like that, it should be a sharp lip which is used for various tasks like fine detail work and feathersticking. Heres a couple videos on what the Tracker is meant to do.
Only thing I’ve ever liked about them is the scout carry sheath that I use with my Becker BK9

I bought one when I was new to knives. I took it outside in the woods, all excited as fuck, and got to doing some hardcore bushcraft. Immediately I found that it didn’t really whittle. Then I got to sawing and found that it didn’t really saw. Then I got to skinning and found that it sure didn’t skin very well. Then I got to sharpening and said, “I’m just gonna go ahead and sell this.”
And then the cycle repeated itself.

It’s a tracker knife. That one in the picture is incredibly shit tho. Look at a real tracker knife. There’s different grinds and angles on that blade that each have a different purpose. A heave front for chopping, a thin back for slicing and whittling and so on.

I really liked my Tom brown trackers. But after contemplating how to sharpen the portion closer to the handle… Eh. Not much user knives IMO. They COULD be used, just difficult to maintain.

Circled bit is meant to have a thinner sharpening angle (perhaps 17-20 degrees?) and is meant to be for fine shaving and cutting work such as making a tent-peg from a bit of wood.
The portion nearer the tip should have angle of maybe 25 – 30 degrees so it doesn’t blunt when used to chop wood. The huge bit that exists between these edges should not be there: that will only get in the way and reduce the cutting functionality of the blade.
