Any ideas how to prevent the straps on my headlamp from sliding up while still being able to remove it when needed?

Milwaukee head lamps come with plastic grips for rim of hard hats that weave onto the straps of the lamp. Might be able to pick them up separately or with a cheaper lamp from them.

I have used zip ties through the accessory hole. But you got a Lyft hat with no holes on it.

Also could use the sticky squares and zip ties. But more long term solution. I know a guy that just flips the lamp back so it not always in the way.

A lot of new “higher end” headlamps bought from stores that also sell hard hats come with rubberized straps specifically designed for that. I know my Milwaukee one has it. They also come with hard hat clips.

I was thinking Command hooks, inverted so the hook faces down. But I’m guessing this is something you have to achieve while wearing gloves?

I always make it a little too big so the back of the strap is down by the tightening dial, seems to keep it in place for me!

strips of flex seal (or other rubber adhesive like b6000) on the inside of the straps for traction on the helmet. Would look no different but would grip much better

I put a couple holes through the strap so the bolts holding the suspension in the hard hat hold the headlamp to the hard hat as well, and then just ordered a second elastic strap setup in case I wanted to use the headlamp separate from the hard hat.

Picatinny rail with quick release on front and back.

Strip of velcro on the hard hat then one wrap around the straps. should lock it down enough and you can easily pop it off

Gorilla Glue some velcro to the helmet and the back of the light base. Will put up with the elements and moderate dirty and grease

Random question – is that a carbon fiber helmet? It looks cool AF.

Depends on if you need to stay compliant with safety regs. If you do, your options are pretty limited. Basically if the hard hat manufacturer doesn’t make a solution for this then there’s no OSHA compliant way to mod it.

Climbing / safety helmets I have used had clips that looked like decoration on them, but was meant for light / action cam straps. Haven’t used a hard hat in the past 30 years but surprised they don’t have similar.

Nice hard hat. Unless you work outside in the summer. That thing will cook your head. I tossed mine and went back to plain white.

There are clips for that… pretty cheap too

Love my lift hard hat, but the lack of headlamp clips sucks.

Heavy duty velcro or fabricate a couple plastic or sheet metal clips and apply with adhesive.

  19. Pelican makes a head lamp that comes with a rubber strap so it won’t slide off your hard hat.
