I bought a brand new P18 because I was intrigued by it have FOUR SFT40’s. I have been very impressed by my throwers with that LED.
After I bought it I saw Illumn has the L35 with LatticePower P70 on sale for $55!

They are very similar lights. Personally I give the edge to the P18. Not only does it have a good beam throw, but the head design provides a wide flower shaped flood that my pics cannot show.
The L35 P70 is probably the best light under $60 I’ve seen. It’s amazing really, it has a nice wide beam and so much power.

I highly recommend both, the build quality is amazing. The P18 feels a bit more stout and hefty, thicker metal than the L35.

They both feel like flashlights you can not only daily carry but also put through the paces and not worry if they drop or get banged around.

The new P18 came with a button top battery installed but a flat top 21700 works as well.
The P18 has the new 2 button tail cap operation which is different but I welcome the change.

Nice comparison. The first and second Beamshot look pretty different to me, same light there?

    I love my L35 btw.

  2. Nice comparison. Do you have any thoughts on the other “P” models like P17 and P15?

Nice comparisons , appreciate the beam shots.

Owning a couple L35 myself, and the P17, all of which I have expiremented modding, I give a slight edge to the L35 Vs the P17, but the only real reason is I personally like the L35 side switch/tailswitch combo a little better.

Though, the P17 is a phenomenal reflector xhp70.3 HI thrower, and feels much more portable and nearly as powerful compared to the L35.

Both are among my favorite new lights, and the quality is amazing. I just love the side/tail switch setup Acebeam had been using on many of their lights (t27/t28, t36, L19, L35, etc etc).

Thought these new P models are a welcome new era too!
