Strobe is an awesome feature for signaling. It works very well in daylight and even through thick brush or canopy. I’ve directed SEAT and Helo drops with this particular SC64w HI, and used it to communicate with ground personnel and heavy equipment too many times to count.

  1. Just saw police using strobe in daylight rain to direct traffic around an accident. Strobe gets dragged here, but it is VERY useful when it needs to be. For long distance signaling, it is king for easy identification.

I just love that you are out here with dirt all over your Zebras and some people won’t take theirs out of the house. Haha

Fun fact: flashing or blinking light is one of the greatest attention getters for humans. Our side vision is very sensitive to changes in light or dark, meaning we tend to sense blinking or flashing lights without even consciously thinking about it, and our natural reaction is to turn to the source of the action.

I’ve preached this and used this many many times and posted about it an I have been shot down!

Largely because many people that chime in really don’t use their flashlights…. Much less have ever been in an emergent situation.

One has to be in a situation that is robbing their focus, to understand how it takes a lot to get someone’s eye..
