Obviously the spyderco has better steel, it costs like four times as much. So that aside, what else make these knives special?

Hello, it seems you may be asking why a piece of gear is carried. While your post is being manually reviewed, please visit our wiki and FAQ where the more common items of gear that are asked about have explanations.
If your question is not answered there, it is suggested that you run a search on the sub for the item of gear you are curious about. There are typically multiple previous posts asking the same thing that will serve you better than asking again. If that fails to give you the information you are looking for, please wait for moderators to manually approve your post. this process may take time, so DO NOT message moderators about the post for at least 48 hours.
If your question was about knives or guns being carried, those two items are listed in the FAQ.
If your question was not about why an item is carried, apologies for the delay, and be aware that it will be manually approved as soon as possible. Your patience is appreciated.

Spyderco is made in the USA. The other is made in China with possible slave labor.

  3. For me it comes down to the lock. Compression lock is the way to go in my opinion.
