Saw this on this subreddit recently and it’s design & features intrigued me. I needed a new (good) headlamp anyway as my previous one had a strange battery drain issue where it would completely drain it’s batteries if left in for more then a week even if not being used. It was a farpoint 1000lm zoomable COB headlamp that used 4 AA batteries (i use rechargeable of course) pretty good performance wise but a bit bulky and has the mentioned battery drain issue.
I managed to get the H65 UHE during aliexpress’s recent sale for 54USD. I’m pretty happy with it so far. I’ve attached some photos of it and of another 5$ farpoint headlamp i also recently picked up from the dollar store. You can read further for a more detailed review/opinion of this headlamp.
Pros:
1. Nice design
2. Very lightweight and compact. Great build quality.
3. Great light output & features
4. 4500K Aux LED’S with high CRI
5. Built-in charging via USB-C & battery indicator
6. Simple UI
7. 4000mah 10A 18650 included
8. IP68 dust & water resistance
9. Great runtime and good sustained output with included battery. It doesn’t get very hot unless you run it on turbo for a long time
10. Good headband. Light is detachable from strap & an extra top support piece is also included (which is removable)
11. The included storage case is quite nice and sturdy big enough to fit everything that is included.
Cons:
1. main emmeters have a slight green tint to them mainly noticeable at lower levels. Not a huge deal as i often find myself using the 4500K high 90 CRI AUX emmeters for close-up use but it’s something to keep in mind
2. AUX LED’s aren’t very bright and only really suitable for close-up use. Again this doesn’t bother me a lot but i wish it was like in the 100lm range instead of just 40lm. Another thing to consider before buying.
3. Charging flap is a bit flimsy and doesn’t always like to stay in place so even though the headlamp is ip68 rated I’d be cautious about using it in very wet environments.
4. Once the headlamp does get hot after prolonged usage on high levels you’ll find that it quickly steps down to a low level even if you try to force it back into a higher level.
5. no memory mode as far as I’m aware but thankfully to get to the lowest mode you double click the power button from off and you can click again to get to the 40lm mode (both thease modes use the 4000K 90CRI AUX emmeters) due to this it doesn’t bother me a lot but if this wasn’t the case having no memory mode would’ve really annoyed me as i often use the AUX emmeters and i don’t like having to turn the headlamp on and switch from the main LED’s to the aux.
6. This is not really a con but something to consider is that it does not support flat top cells but fully supports button top cells both protected and unprotected. Also if you want the best performance out of it they recommend using a 10A constant discharge capable cell as Otherwise the cell might struggle to keep up in higher light output levels.
7. Price. The normal retail price is a bit too much. But if you can get it on sale it is totally worth it in MY personal opinion. Everybody’s opinion will be different though so please keep that in mind. But otherwise i am satisfied with this headlamp for the price i paid. It’s definitely going to be my main headlamp from now on and definitely replacing my old 1000lm farpoint headlamp with it.
