NKD, Station IX Creve Couer. I love the looks and proportions of this knife. Execution leaves a bit to be desired. Sharpeness is okay out of the box, better than my Spyderco Streetbeat. But worse than my $30ish Sdokedc knife shown for comparison. The finish of the scales and metal is also worse.

The Sdokeedc is G10, DC53 (Chinese D2 iirc) blade came very sharp, has rounded, crowned edges all over, slightly recessed and well fitted scales, and well-placed jimping. The sheath is tight, but can be released with one hand using the thumb shelf.

On the $110 Station IX Creve Couer, the scales are also g10, but unevenly finished, and at places overhang the tang. The blade is VG10, but sharpness is only acceptable. The design of the sheath sucks for one handed use. Unyielding retention, but no way to draw with one hand.

My experience with $100+ knives has so far been disappointing. My favorite EDCs remain: Blade Brothers Mr.Wick ($96), CRKT Minimalist Katana ($30), and the Sdokedc ($30).

I understand what you’re saying with out-of-the-box quality, but with a little TLC it looks like a promising EDC.
