Sorry crew I posted the first draft of this yesterday, but finished it off today, so thought I’d share. Bottom one is the original blade.
Now to give it a fancy leather sheath, and she’ll be ready for action!
Shortened the handle so it’s full tang now and took off some material to make it more like a standard knife handle, much more manoeuvrable now. Also recessed the handle a bit more toward to blade to make for a better guard. Got a bit nervous with it as smooth as it was from factory.
Was too poor to buy a big bowie (was looking at the 1917 Frontier Bowie) so this will do for the moment. I know and trust the steel on these blades so should last me quite a while! 😊
Material was removed slowly with an angle grinder flap disc to keep the steel integrity intact, and cooled in a bucket of water after two passes, so took quite a long time.
