I’ve been somewhat on the fence when it comes to getting a mule. Even though I have pretty much every other modern fireflies, the Nov-Mu is a relatively expensive purchase, so I’ve held off since there are rumors of a replacement coming down the road. But recently I happened to find a local deal for the older PL47Mu in brass plus short body and battery set for less than 50usd, so it was frankly a no brainer to get it.

Aside from being my first mule light, this is also my first exotic, and man is this thing heavy! When I took it out of the box, I actually thought it had a battery in it due to the weight. Definitely one for the collection and not as an everyday carry.

The 219b beam is lovely to say the least, floody and even, and I get why this is used by some as a photography light. It renders colors very well and suits the purpose of an ad-hoc fill light once in a while (I have plenty other big lights as I work as a videographer and photographer).
