I’m looking for a new flashlight (we call them a torch in the uk) I do camping and hiking mainly. I’ve had these two in my basket for some time and they have just been reduced by quite a lot. The only thing putting me off slightly is the size and weight factor.

What one would you go for and why or would you recommend something else entirely for my use case.

Thanks loads. 😉

Buy them from sofirn directly and the price will drop even more. Also go for Q8 plus as it has more performance and bigger battery capacity then the pro. But that’s just my 2 cents.

My take: In all seriousness they are big, bulky, floody lights. The pro carries better, being slightly narrower and the large size convoy holster fits it really nicely. If those two were the only options I’d choose the pro. Both too floody for me, I bought them purely as hosts to emitter swap (Pro to SFN40 and Plus to SFT40).

I would absolutely buy them direct from Sofirn for considerably less though. I’m in the UK and ordered them both (for a second time) very recently. The pro shipped on the 6th Oct and arrived on the 11th.

Personally, I’d choose something else entirely. Not sure what (I’m spoilt for choice with my collection). Perhaps an Acebeam E75. Perhaps something with the well-rounded beam of an XHP70.3 and good quality driver like an Acebeam L35 v2 (the cell in this can be used as a powerbank in emergencies but standard 21700 cells also work if you want to carry spares).
